Why Direct upload as a clipping source
Direct upload covers everything that isn't on a public platform: client recordings, internal interviews, downloaded webinar exports, anything DRM-free. The same AI pipeline runs regardless of how the source got into Clipperz.
Direct upload-specific notes
- Maximum source duration is 5 hours; the practical sweet spot is under 90 minutes for fastest analysis.
- Free plan caps uploads at 500 MB per file; Creator and above raise this to 2 GB; Pro and above to 10 GB.
- Files with embedded burned-in captions don't get a clean transcript — strip captions from the source before upload if possible.
How clipping from Direct upload works
- Paste the Direct upload URL into Clipperz, or use direct upload from the dashboard.
- The AI runs transcription, scoring, and 9:16 reframe with face-tracking automatically.
- Review the ranked candidate clips by Satisfaction-per-Impression score. Pick the strongest, archive the weakest.
- Apply your brand template once, render the batch, and either export or schedule direct publish to Shorts, Reels, LinkedIn, X, or Facebook Pages.
Direct upload clipping FAQ
What video formats does Clipperz accept?
MP4, MOV (QuickTime), MKV, and WebM. For audio-only sources, MP3, M4A, and WAV.
Why might a file fail to upload?
The most common causes are exceeding the per-file size cap for the current plan, an unsupported codec inside an otherwise-supported container, or an interrupted network during upload. Re-export the file at H.264/AAC inside MP4 if you hit codec issues.
