Drive import needs a direct, supported media file
A browser share page is not the same thing as an audio or video file. A reliable importer verifies the response, media type, redirect behavior, and size before adding anything to the creator library.
Use a file you own or have permission to edit. When a public link is required for import, expose only the intended media file, complete the import, and restore the Drive sharing setting when the workflow allows it.
- Choose a supported audio or video file, not a folder.
- Use a direct share link without embedded credentials.
- Wait for success feedback before adding the asset.
- Restrict the Drive file again after a completed import when appropriate.
Prepare the intended Drive file
Open the exact audio or video file in Google Drive and confirm that it plays there. Check the filename, duration, and ownership before changing access.
Do not use a folder link, an editing URL, or a page that requires another person’s session. The importer needs a supported media response it can verify.
Set the required link access deliberately
When the import flow requires public link access, change only the intended file to Anyone with the link. Copy its share URL without adding credentials or unrelated query data.
Treat this as a temporary transfer step. Keep a note to restore the file to Restricted after the import succeeds and the copied asset is safely available in the product.
Choose Add audio or Add video in the editor
Pick the insertion point on the selected clip, open the contextual menu, and choose the media type that matches the Drive file.
A music bed or narration belongs on the audio lane. A visual cutaway or screen recording belongs on the video lane.
Import the Drive file and wait until it is ready
Paste the link into the Drive import control and submit it once. Visible progress and success feedback should confirm whether Clipperz received supported media.
If the import fails, correct the access or file type. Do not bypass an error with an untrusted download proxy or a credential-bearing URL.
Place, trim, and preview the imported media
Move the new range to its intended start, trim the timeline duration, adjust the source section, and set audio behavior where applicable.
Play through the full inserted range in the browser. Confirm that Drive import produced actual playable media, not a placeholder or share-page response.
Review, export, and restore Drive privacy
Approve the complete edit, submit the export, and verify the finished clip. Check the exact inserted range and audio behavior.
Return to Drive and set the source file back to Restricted when public access is no longer needed. Confirm that the finished asset remains available through the product’s retained copy and normal project permissions.
Drive import safety checklist
A convenient import should not turn into an accidental sharing problem. Keep access narrow, temporary, and tied to a file you are authorized to use.
- The link points to one supported media file.
- The file contains no credentials or private unrelated material.
- Import success is visible before you edit the range.
- The browser preview plays the copied media correctly.
- Drive access is restored after the transfer when appropriate.
