Use upload when the source belongs to you
A direct upload is useful for camera recordings, webinars, client-approved files, private exports, and other creator-owned media that is not available through a supported public URL.
The upload is only the beginning. A trustworthy workflow verifies the media, reports preparation progress, builds the transcript and preview, lets the creator review candidate clips, and counts retained source and rendered files toward the applicable storage quota.
- Upload only media you own or have permission to process.
- Keep the browser open until the upload confirms completion.
- Wait for a playable preview before editing.
- Review the selected clips before any final render.
Choose the creator-owned video file
Open the new clip workflow and choose a supported video from the laptop. Use the original export when practical instead of a copy that has already been compressed several times.
Check the filename and approximate duration before starting. This small step prevents uploading an intro, proxy, or draft by mistake.
Watch the upload and verification feedback
Keep the browser open while bytes are transferring. Wait for the product to confirm that the uploaded object was received and recognized as supported media.
If the file is rejected, use the visible error to correct the format or size rather than repeatedly submitting the same unsupported asset.
Wait for transcript and preview preparation
The editor needs a playable source and timed transcript before the full workflow is trustworthy. Use the displayed progress state rather than refreshing blindly.
When preparation completes, play the beginning and scan the transcript to confirm the correct source was processed.
Review candidate clips and refine their boundaries
Use the generated shortlist as a starting point. Read the surrounding transcript, listen to each candidate, and adjust the start and end until the clip contains one complete idea.
Reject weak or repetitive candidates. Keeping fewer clear clips is better than rendering every draft from the upload.
Choose a readable caption style
Correct important caption words and choose a preset in the native Caption Style panel. Apply it to this clip, all clips, or the reusable default according to the project.
Then play the complete browser composition and verify the subject, captions, and any timed media enhancement before review.
Approve, export, and manage retained storage
Approve each final clip after watching it, then submit the render. Progress feedback confirms the export entered processing and the finished result appears in the Library.
Storage usage should include creator uploads and active retained renders. Remove obsolete media and old outputs you no longer need, while keeping any source or final file required for active projects.
Upload-to-clip checklist
Treat an upload like a production source, not a disposable attachment. Clear source identity and visible processing state prevent costly mistakes later.

- The preview and transcript match the intended recording.
